Farmark support
Calendars
Start with a real source calendar or schedule photo. Add Google calendars, Apple/iCal links, .ics files, manual events, and schedule photos as your family needs them.
Start with Smart Setup
- Add family members and colors first so imported events have clear columns.
- Connect calendars that already contain real family events, or import a school or sports schedule photo.
- Check member assignments and event details before using Farmark on a shared display.
- If Farmark is unsure where an imported item belongs, review it and choose the right family member.
Manual events
- Use Add Event for appointments, practices, school items, and reminders that are not already in a source calendar.
- Manual events are the simplest and most reliable option for a family schedule app everyone can understand.
Apple Calendar / iCloud link
- On your iPhone, open the Calendar app.
- Tap Calendars in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the i icon next to the iCloud calendar you want Farmark to show.
- Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link or Copy Link.
- Public Calendar does not make your whole iCloud account public. It creates a read-only link for that one calendar. Anyone who has the link can view that calendar feed, so only share calendars you are comfortable showing in Farmark and turn the link off if it is ever shared accidentally.
- In Farmark, go to Settings → Calendar Connections, choose the family member, and select Apple / iCal link.
- Paste the link into the iCal link box, name it, choose the family member, then tap Sync.
What Apple Calendar support means
- Farmark can continuously sync an Apple/iCloud calendar when you add that calendar's public iCal link.
- This is read-only. Farmark shows the events but does not edit your Apple Calendar.
- It is not a full Apple account sign-in. You choose one calendar link at a time, which keeps access narrower and easier to revoke.
.ics file upload
- Export a .ics file from the source calendar.
- Go to Settings → Calendar Connections → choose family member → Apple / iCal link.
- Choose Upload .ics, select the file, add a label, choose the family member, and import it.
- A file upload is a snapshot. Upload a fresh file when the source calendar changes.
Photo Schedule Import
- Use Photo Schedule Import for school flyers, sports screenshots, camp sheets, appointment cards, and paper schedules.
- Review the event drafts before saving them. Do not treat a photo import as final until a parent checks dates, times, titles, and assignments.
- Use calendar connections for feeds that update often.
Google and Outlook
- Google Calendar import is available during setup, trial, and paid use, including families who already use Google Calendar for family sharing.
- Google imports are read-only. Farmark pulls from Google when the dashboard opens, about every 5 minutes while it is open, and when you tap Sync Now.
- If an Apple/iCal calendar is subscribed inside Google, Farmark can only show it after Google has actually updated that subscribed feed.
- Outlook/Microsoft 365 direct import is planned for a later release. For now, Microsoft calendars can usually be added with an iCal link if your calendar provides one.
Import receipts and fixes
- After an import, Farmark should show what happened: events found, nothing found, or a connection problem.
- If zero events import, confirm the source calendar has future events and that the calendar is still shared or connected.
- If events appear under the wrong person, edit the event assignment in Farmark.
- Paired displays should update after calendar changes. Refresh the display once if it looks stale.
